By announcing that the government will not support any consortium who seeks to buy HBoS in the same way as they are prepared to support it if Lloyds are successful in their acquisition, Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling has essentially doomed Scotland to the loss of the Bank of Scotland as an independent bank based in our capital.

This move that can only be described as unjust and unfair.  Shareholders of every Bank and Institution concerned should, therefore, question what the Governments motivation is before voting the Lloyds TSB merger through!
