Bribe or Economic Stimulus?

Posted in Comment by ThinkScotland

Today’s newspapers suggest Gordon Brown is set to announce a £30 billion package to try and kick start the economy, (around £1,000 for each taxpayer in the UK).

The question for us all is whether this is a genuine attempt to steer our economy through difficult economic times or a cynical political ploy to bribe poor families into believing the government can spend its way out of recession in the run up to Christmas at the very same time as families, small businesses and large companies are all having to tighten their belts?
