Richard Cook – Director

“Straight Talk - No Political Correctness”

Richard Cook was appointed Director of Think Scotland earlier this year and is responsible for management of all contributions to the Think Scotland website.  He lives in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire, with his wife Elaine and is a Director of an export company in the environmental waste managment and recycling industry.

A former Vice Chairman of the Scottish Conservative Party, Richard remains politically active and is well known across the political spectrum as a community campaigner keen to work with anyone, regardless of political affiliation, willing to deliver.

A fully involved member of his local community, Richard is campaigning to retain Scotland’s busiest A&E at the Victoria Infirmary, to maintain East Renfrewshire’s independence and to deliver on his personal commitment to abolish Inheritance Tax.

Richard is currently actively involved with local projects to tackle graffiti, to improve the condition of our roads and pavements and to deliver a more accessible NHS to local people. Richard also maintains a daily blog, inviting local people to learn a little more about what he thinks about local issues and to tell him what they think in return. He serves as Director in Scotland of the Campaign Against Political Correctness, (www.capc.co.uk), so you can be assured that Richard’s blog is straight talking and no political correctness – www.voterichardcook.blogspot.com.
