Phil Gallie retired as a Scottish Conservative and Unionist member of the Scottish Parliament in April 2007. A former MP, Phil remains on his party’s candidate list for Westminster and Europe. His working career prior to full time politics began with an apprenticeship in Rosyth Dockyard. He spent four years at sea as an electrical engineer with Ben Line before joining the Electricity Supply Industry. He worked with both SSEB and CEGB in positions that took him from the shop floor to Management of Scottish Power’s Hydro and Oil fired Power Stations. Between parliaments he was employed for a short time by Scottish Enterprise before setting up his own consultancy PG Business Advice. He has recently been appointed as a board member of Ayr College and is involved in charity work in addition to remaining a political activist.
